Terms of service
Last updated 9 October 2026
These terms apply to companies and recruiters who use Verso during the pilot. They are written to be read. If something is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.
1. About these terms
Verso is provided by [Legal entity name], [Registered address], registration number [Trade register number], CUI/VAT [CUI / VAT number] ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between us and the company that uses Verso ("you", the "customer"). The person who creates the account confirms they can accept these terms for the company.
Verso is for business use only. If you have a separate signed agreement with us, that agreement wins where it differs from these terms.
2. The service and the pilot
Verso lets you define what a role needs, add an Apply button to your careers page, have applicants interviewed by an AI interviewer by voice or text, and review a ranked shortlist with evidence.
Verso is in an early pilot (beta). That means:
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without a service level or uptime commitment.
- Features may change, be added or be removed. We will tell you in advance about changes that affect your open jobs where we can.
- There may be bugs, interruptions or errors. Please tell us when you find one.
- Voice interviews use your candidates' browser for speech, so they work only in supported browsers. Candidates can always choose text instead.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
4. Candidate data and your responsibilities
For your candidates' data, you are the controller and we are your processor. You decide to use Verso in your hiring, so you are responsible for doing that lawfully. In particular, you agree to:
- Have a valid legal basis for processing candidate data, and tell candidates how you use it in your own privacy notice.
- Tell candidates, before they start, that they will be interviewed and assessed with the help of an AI system. Link to our AI notice for candidates or give equivalent information.
- Have a person review every application before any decision. Do not use Verso's scores or recommendations as the only basis for rejecting or hiring someone.
- Handle candidates' requests for human review, access, correction and deletion. We will help you (see section 5).
- Offer reasonable adjustments, or an interview without AI, to candidates who need one, for example for accessibility reasons.
- Use the AI system as intended and oversee it. AI used to evaluate job candidates is classed as high-risk under the EU AI Act, and deployers have their own duties under it, including human oversight and informing the people affected.
- Comply with employment and anti-discrimination law in your country.
- Tell us if you need candidate data deleted sooner than our default retention period.
5. How we process data for you
When we process candidate data for you, we will:
- Process it only to provide Verso to you and on your documented instructions, including these terms and your settings.
- Make sure people who access it are bound by confidentiality.
- Keep appropriate technical and organisational security measures in place.
- Use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, and tell you before we add or replace one so you can object.
- Help you respond to candidates' requests and to meet your security, breach notification and impact assessment duties.
- Tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
- Delete candidate data at the end of the retention period, or when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Give you the information you reasonably need to show compliance, and allow reasonable audits.
If you need a separate data processing agreement, ask us at [support@your-domain] and we will sign one with you.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Verso to discriminate unlawfully, or set criteria based on protected characteristics such as age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, health or family status.
- Use Verso to infer candidates' emotions, personality traits or other characteristics beyond the job-related criteria.
- Use Verso for anything other than assessing applicants for real roles you are hiring for.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful or harmful.
- Try to break, overload, probe or bypass the security or usage limits of the service.
- Copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product.
7. AI output
Verso uses AI models to analyse CVs, run interviews and draft evaluations. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent. Voice transcripts can contain recognition errors. Scores and recommendations are suggestions to help your team, not decisions. You remain responsible for your hiring decisions.
Integrity signals (such as tab switches, pastes and pauses) are context, not proof of anything. They can have innocent causes, including nerves, a weak connection or a disability. Do not reject a candidate because of them alone.
8. Your data and ours
- You keep all rights in the data you and your candidates put into Verso. You give us permission to use it only to provide, secure and support the service for you.
- We do not use your data or your candidates' data to train AI models. We use our AI provider under commercial terms that, as they stand today, do not allow it to train its models on the data we send.
- We may use operational data, such as usage counts, costs and error rates, to run and improve Verso. This data does not identify candidates.
- We keep the rights in Verso itself, including the software, prompts and design.
- If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.
9. Fees
The pilot is free unless we agree otherwise in writing. Before we start charging, we will tell you the price in advance and you can choose whether to continue. Paid plans will be described in a separate order or agreement.
10. Warranties and liability
During the pilot, we give no warranties beyond those the law does not allow us to exclude. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you hire any particular person.
Our total liability to you for all claims connected with Verso is limited to [the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 500 if you paid nothing]. We are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profits, lost business or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
You are responsible for claims that arise from your hiring decisions, from your instructions to us, or from your breach of these terms or of data protection law.
11. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using Verso and ask us to close your account at any time.
- We can end the pilot, or your access, with 30 days' notice by email.
- We can suspend access straight away if it is needed to protect the service, candidates or other users, or if you seriously breach these terms. We will tell you why.
- When your account closes, we delete your account and candidate data within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep it. If you need a copy first, ask us before then and we will help you get one.
12. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will email you at least 30 days in advance. If you keep using Verso after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Verso.
These terms are governed by the law of [Romania]. Disputes go to [the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania].
